Slow Poke had five players out this week due to illness or plain lack of commitment. Dr notes expected next week.

A special thanks to Angie Wagner allowing Clay to play even after a tough day of preparation for the Birthday girl. Two weeks in a row would not have been tolerated.

7pm vs Past Prom Kings (A National)

W 29-27

A A Ron came through with a walk off Grand Slam to cap off his monster game at the plate to carry Slow Poke to a 29-27 win over Past Prom Kings in five innings.

Past Prom Kings got on the board early scoring seven runs in the 1st inning but Pokes fought back tying the game at 11 after two.

Both teams went back and forth as the rain came down. Pokes only scored one run in the 4th after Sage tripled and Zak hit a sac fly. Clay entered his at bat with under a minute remaining. With a seven run deficit he had to decide whether to start another rally or take a hit in his AVG and getting out to go another inning. He quickly made a decision and stepped in the box knowing the bottom of the lineup was capable and willing. He knew the rally was possible and swung away. Unfortunately his pop up was caught in shallow left center field. Luckily there were five seconds remaining on the clock and the game would go one more inning.

Entering the bottom of the 5th inning Pokes were behind 17-27. After Trevor grounded out to 3rd, Mark and Mike singled, and Aaron doubled to center bringing them both around to score. Tanner tripled and scored on Shelbys single who then scored off a double from Josh. Sage worked the count full and fought off two foul balls eventually leading to a walk. Zak and Clay singled loading the bases for Trevor who hit a towering sac fly scoring Sage. Mark and Mike played copycat once again walking to load the bases for Aaron who ended it with a shot to Right Field.

Aaron set an all time Slow Poke record for RBI's in a game with 12. Signs were seen in the stands demanding an asterisk be placed on the record due to Aarons, "fill in/no pay" status. Mark contributed to the big numbers by reaching base safely each at bat and scoring 5 runs. Clay and Trevor each finished with a superflous 4 RBI's each.

9pm vs Wired Nutz (A American)

W 23-22

Slow Poke trailed by nine in the fourth, but Tanner was able to capture the lead back with a walk off single, spurring Slow Poke to a 23-22 win in four innings over Wired Nutz.

Josh doubled to lead off the game and quickly scored on a triple to right field by Sage. Zak hit a single scoring Sage. Trevor then hit a ball so deep off the Monster in left center that it would have gone out on any Little League field. After two innings it was a tight game with Pokes up 10-8.

In the 3rd Wired Nutz found their stroke putting up 11 runs during a long, rain soaked four out inning. Tough defensive plays were made for nought and Nutz scored with some help. Pokes put up a quick three runs in the bottom of the inning, but Wired Nutz scored three to match. Once again Slow Poke Nation entered their bottom half of the potentially last inning trailing by a huge margin.

Mike started it off with a single and scored on Aarons home run to right center. Tanner doubled and scored on Shelbys single to center. Josh and Sage hit back to back triples to bring the score to 19-22. Clay, Mark, and Aaron hit doubles to leading to a tie ball game with Tanner entering the box. With two outs and Aaron on third Tanner hit a rope at the pitcher narrowly missing his head and the game was over. Pokes win!

Another Slow Poke record went down this time for triples in a game with Sage hitting three. Aaron finished his stellar night going 4-4 with 5 RBI's and Zak went 4-4 with 4 RBI's.

Special recognition to Josh and Shelby who both reached 100 total hits in their Slow Poke careers.  Ironically the milestones happened back to back during the 4th inning rally.
