Pokes come away with two out of three on a busy night which included a wallopin', a foot race, a weak loss, and batting practice.
Pokes played Master Batters first which is always a good thing. After the butt whoopin' Pokes brought the consecutive victories over Master Batters to five in a row outscoring them by a total of 72 runs over the span.
Josh Haslam returned to form by hitting two three run home runs deep into the left field stands. He also had 7 RBI's for a new career high. Jordan followed suit knocking in a new career high 6 RBI's. Zak, Trevor H, and Laramie combined for 15 hits and 14 runs scored.
With the first game wrapping up so quickly a four week long trash talk was finally going to be settled. After the race it was apparent both participants did not back up anything and ran at 70% at most. Judge for yourselves...
The second game against MEI was very uneventful and slow until Clay brought the crowd to its feet with a gunshot of a sound sending the ball through the left field bleachers for a homer in the fourth. MEI scored 13 in the bottom half of the 5th to secure the win.
Pokes then moved over to Yankee Stadium to take on Tailgaters in an exhibition matchup. Tailgaters started strong and hit five home runs in the first two innings to limit their bats for the rest of the game. Pokes stayed close the entire way and put up nine runs in the final inning to steal a win.
Sage and Clay finally had some hits going 4-4 apiece with a combined 11 RBI's. Sage doubled in his last at bat to complete the cycle.
Laramie lit the fireworks in the top of the fifth with a monstrous grand slam home run to center after a generous teammate didn't stayed at third base on the previous at bat.
Although a grand slam is nice the highlight of the night (although a quiet one) came after the final game. Trevor H finished the night going 12 for 12 with 12 singles. Even without looking at previous games it's safe to say 12 singles in one night is a record which will never be broken. He also scored 10 runs and knocked in 8 RBI's.
Extra Bonuses on the night include:
Trevor H - 2 points for 2 K's in separate games
1 point for not getting out all night
Lisle - 1 point for a K
Laramie - 1 point for a grand slam
Sage - 2 points for a defensive play
Clay - 1 point for a gunshot home run
