With the season about half way over it seems a good time to reflect on the state of the team. Although there are no wins to show for the hard work being put in it is apparent that there has been a significant improvement seen each week.
The second game last night was lost in the last inning to the top team in the league. A few bounces in our favor and Slow Poke could have left with a win. It sent a strong message to the rest of the league to not take us lightly.
Next week there are no games because Labor Day weekend. It is imperative we capitalize on the momentum we started.
It should be the goal of every player to go to the cages and get as many swings in as possible. We should all need batting gloves for the next game because of the blisters on your hands. Any chance to practice throws, flyballs, grounders, or pitching should be taken advantage of.
Softball is a perishable skill that you must refuse to lose. Do not be "that" person who doesn't hustle because of fear that your skills aren't good enough.
"We will not go quietly into the night!
We will not vanish without a fight!
We're going to live on!
We're going to survive!"
