D-Backs vs Nationals
W, 7-4 (3 innings)

The D-Backs clutch up with a comeback win over the Nationals.
Mitchell Houston started on the mound and struck out the first batter to set the tone for the season.  After a couple of walks he struck out two more Nationals to strike out the side.

The pattern continued as Mitchell lead off the bottom of the first with a single to center.  After a few passed balls he came around to score the first run of the season.

The second inning was a struggle as the Nationals showed good patience at the plate and reached base five times off walks.  With only one out in the inning and the bases loaded D-Backs defense stepped up as a slow roller to the pitcher was handled by Mitchell who threw out the runner with a great catch by the first baseman Mason Biship.

After putting up no runs in the bottom of the second Luke Bowden took the mound in relief and kept the D-Backs in the game by allowing no runs, striking out three batters, and walking only two.

D-Backs trailed four to one entering the bottom of third inning with bottom of the lineup coming up.  Bo Randall worked a walk to lead off and promptly stole second.  Ricky Whetten showed poise at the plate and walked as well.  Mitchell stepped in the box and Bo and Ricky each stole third and second respectively.  Mitchell walked on four straight balls with Walker Cunningham walking as well scoring Bo.  Mason wasn't up there looking as he crushed a line drive to left field for a double clearing the bases for three RBI's.  After Tyrus Randall grounded out to shortstop moving Mason to third, Rushton Shirts beat out a grounder to the left side scoring Mason for the final run of the game.

A superb start to the season.
