D-Backs vs Angels
L, 8-10
D-Backs lost a tough game after throwing errors allow Angels to score winning run.
Angels starting pitcher struggled as the D-Backs sent nine batters to the plate in the first inning. Although D-Backs went through the lineup they only managed to score three runs. A plethora of D-Backs walked including Aiden Ohl, Luke Bowden, Tyrus Randall, and Christopher Alston. Ricky Whetten reached base safely by getting beaned in the back of his left shoulder. The lone hit came when Mason Biship singled on a grounder to second scoring Aiden adding to his team high 8 RBI's.
Luke Bowden started on the right track as he struck out the first batter looking. After giving up a single up the middle Luke walked a batter and then hit a batter then walked another. Another single by the Angels and they went up 5-3. Luke then buckled down and struck out the final two batters of the inning swinging.
The second inning saw the D-Backs failing to respond at the dish. Mitchell Houston took the mound and promptly struck out the first batter. The second batter strolled to the plate in all his 4 foot 1 inch frame. Mitchell was unable to find the strike zone and walked the little guy. The Angels next batter (normal size kid) saw a steady diet of changeups and striking out on five pitches, but the little guy stole second. With two outs the Angels sent up a batter who was content with not swinging. After a ball the second pitch was called a strike and the little guy tried to sneak into third on a delayed steal attempt. Catcher Walker Cunningham wasn't having it as he was ready and made a perfect throw to third baseman Tyrus who was in perfect position. Tyrus caught the ball and quickly tagged the runner before he even had a chance to slide ending the inning.
The third inning saw the D-Backs bring across five runs to make the score 8-5. All runs came off walks. Angels entered the bottom of the third down three. Unfortunately the lead could not be held and the Angels took the win 10-8.
