D-Backs vs Nationals
L, 4-12
A tough loss as Nationals dominate from the get go.
Tyrus Randall started on the mound and promptly struck out the first batter swinging. The next five batters reached base safely on walks. The next batter hit a sharp grounder to second baseman, Christopher Alston, who made a great play to throw him out at first. D-Backs held strong as Mitchell Houston was able to keep the score at three runs tagging out a potential steal of home.
D-Backs first at bats were quiet even though three batters hit the ball hard. Mason Biship walked and Mitchell hit a single to the shortstop. After Mason and Mitchell stole second and third Walker Cunningham hit a fly ball over the shortstop who made a great play to bring it down holding the runners. Bo Randall came up with a new found aggressiveness and swung at the first pitch. The pitcher fooled him with a change up causing Bo to cue the ball off the end of the bat and grounding out to the pitcher to end the threat.
After a big inning by the Nationals the score showed 9-0 at the end of the second. Nationals put up three more in the third and put the D-Backs in a huge hole.
Ricky Whetten lead off the last inning with a single to short and stole second. Mason hit a solid single to center scoring Ricky to put some life in the team. Mitchell was thrown out at first on a grounder to the pitcher and Walker walked. Bo continued his aggressiveness this time striking out swinging. Tyrus came to the dish and hit a scorching line drive past the center fielder sending it to the wall for a two run double.
