D-Backs 4/3 Results

April 3rd

D-Backs vs Yankees
L, 10-12

D-Backs fall short after a long game.

The first inning was a struggle for both teams.  Yankees sent nine players to the plate and scored six runs on a string of walks and hit batters.

D-Backs answered with four runs in the bottom half with hits by Rushton Shirts and Walker Cunningham.  Tyrus Randall drew a bases loaded walk later in the inning scoring Mitchell Houston.

Luke Bowden took the mound in the second and kept the D-Backs close with a scoreless frame.  After striking out the first batter and walking the second, the Yankees #11 hit a sharp grounder to second.  This proved to be a bad idea as Gracie Rogers scooped it up and stepped on second for the force out.  The Yankees next batter was unable to hit Lukes changeup hard and dribbled it to the left of him.  Luke showed great poise and threw out the runner at first for the third out of the inning.

Plenty of walks in the bottom of the inning along with a timely hit helped D-Backs take the lead 10-6.  Aiden Ohl and Luke Bowden walked along with Rushton reaching on a hit by pitch.  Mason strolled to the plate with bad intentions.  He took a fastball and sent it back up the middle for two RBI's scoring Aiden and Rushton.

Walker was then hit by a pitch, while Bo Randall, Christopher Alston, and Gracie Rogers all walked.

D-Backs couldn't hold the lead as the Yankees scored six more runs making the score 12-10.

D-Backs made a valiant last effort, but were unable to come back.
