Thursday was a great day for Clay, as he went 5-5 at the plate to carry Slow Poke to a 30-28 victory over Tin Knockers at Ebbetts Field in five innings.
Six of Slow Poke's runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by Clay. He homered in the second inning, doubled in the first and fourth innings, and singled in the second and fifth innings.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.
Trevor got the win for Slow Poke despite allowing 28 runs over five innings. Trevor struck out none, walked none and gave up 23 hits.
Slow Poke easily handled Tin Knockers pitching as 10 hitters combined for 36 hits, 29 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
Home runs for Slow Poke came when Trevor homered in the first inning, Sage homered in the second inning, Clay homered in the second inning, and Zak homered in the fifth inning.
The top of the first saw Slow Poke take an early lead, 6-0. Slow Poke got things going when Ross singled. Clay doubled, plating Zak and Ross. Slow Poke added more runs when Clay and Josh P scored on a three-run home run by Trevor and Tylor scored on an RBI single by Shelby.
Tin Knockers quickly matched Slow Poke's strong inning with a nine-run inning of its own in the first.
The lead stayed with Slow Poke after the second, when it scored 17 runs on two doubles, two two-run home runs, two singles, and two triples.
Slow Poke piled on five more runs in the top of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Clay doubled, bringing home Josh P.
Clay, Trevor, and Tylor had game highs with five hits apiece.

Josh H hit two home runs to carry Slow Poke to a 24-12 win over Strange Brew at Ebbetts Field in six innings.
Slow Poke was in a difficult situation in the second inning before it recovered for the win.
Trevor racked up two RBIs on three hits for Slow Poke. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the second and fourth innings.
Offense was not hard to come by on on Thursday, as both teams combined for 36 runs and 37 hits, including 12 extra base hits.
Slow Poke hammered Strange Brew pitching as 10 hitters had a field day, combining for 33 hits, 23 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
Tylor hit his first home run as a Slow Poke with a massive grand slam in the fourth.
It didn't take long for Slow Poke to answer as it scored two runs of its own in the first. Slow Poke scored on an RBI single by Zak and an RBI single by Josh P.
Slow Poke didn't relinquish the lead after scoring nine runs in the second inning when it scored on a three-run double by Josh P, a sacrifice fly by Shelby, and five singles.
Slow Poke built upon its lead with seven runs in the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Josh H homered, scoring Shelby. That was followed up by Josh Probsts three-run blast, scoring Zak and Ross.
Slow Poke added six more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Josh H kicked things off with a solo home run. That was followed up by Trevor's single, bringing home Ross.
Huge games by Josh P, Jordan, Sage, and Josh H paced the way with each of them finishing with four hits.
